Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2021
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .

PART 1 - Preliminary
These regulations may be cited as the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2021 .
(1) Except as provided in this regulation, the provisions of these regulations take effect on the day on which the making of these regulations is notified in the Gazette.(2) Part 3 takes effect on the day on which the Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2021 commence.
PART 2 - Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2021 Amended
In this Part, the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2021 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 173 amended (National heavy vehicle number plate fee)
Regulation 173 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting subregulation (4) and substituting the following subregulation:(4) For the financial year ending 30 June 2022, the national heavy vehicle number plate fee is $26.10.(b) by inserting in subregulation (6) "divided by the Australian CPI number for the December quarter in 2020" after "that financial year".
PART 3 - Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2021 Further Amended
In this Part, the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2021 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
6. Regulation 40 amended (Variation, suspension or cancellation of driver licence)
Regulation 40(5) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2010" and substituting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2021".
7. Regulation 41 amended (Notice of variation, suspension or cancellation of driver licence)
Regulation 41(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2010" and substituting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2021".
8. Regulation 71 amended (Revocation of I condition)
Regulation 71(7) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2010" and substituting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2021".
9. Regulation 113 amended (Clearance of written-off vehicle label)
Regulation 113(7) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2010" and substituting "Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2021".

These regulations amend the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2021 by –(a) updating certain references consequent on the commencement of the Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2021; and(b) specifying the fee payable in respect of a heavy vehicle number plate for the financial year ending on 30 June 2022.
