Ambulance Service Regulations 2016
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Ambulance Service Act 1982 .

These regulations may be cited as the Ambulance Service Regulations 2016 .
These regulations take effect on 29 November 2016.
The Commissioner, with the approval of the Minister, may pay to any person, in respect of voluntary services rendered by that person to the Commissioner, any amount the Commissioner considers reasonable in a manner the Commissioner considers appropriate.
4. Reimbursing volunteer ambulance officers
(1) The Commissioner, on the recommendation of a regional manager, may reimburse a volunteer ambulance officer who has incurred out-of-pocket expenses, while providing ambulance services, any amount the Commissioner considers appropriate.(2) A regional manager may reimburse a volunteer ambulance officer who has incurred out-of-pocket expenses, while providing ambulance services, any amount the regional manager considers appropriate, if the reimbursement is in accordance with a policy determined by the Commissioner.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations (a) provide for payment to volunteers, and reimbursement to volunteer ambulance officers, in certain circumstances for ambulance services and voluntary services provided under the Ambulance Service Act 1982 ; and(b) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Ambulance Service Regulations 2006 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .
