Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Mandatory Alcohol Interlock) Amendment Regulations 2013
I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .

These regulations may be cited as the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Mandatory Alcohol Interlock) Amendment Regulations 2013 .
These regulations take effect on 30 July 2013.
In these regulations, the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Mandatory Alcohol Interlock) Regulations 2013 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 6 amended (Regulation 22 amended (Issue of driver licence))
Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after subregulation (9D) the following subregulation:(9E) Subregulation 9A(a) or (b) does not apply to a person if (a) the person before the commencement of the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Mandatory Alcohol Interlock) Regulations 2013 ; and(i) completed any relevant period of disqualification from driving that was imposed as a consequence of the person being convicted of the offence under subregulation (9B) that resulted in the driver licence, held by the person immediately before the period of disqualification, being cancelled; or(ii) obtained the court order authorising the issue of a restricted driver licence to the person (b) the person applies for a driver licence before 31 July 2014.

These regulations amend the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Mandatory Alcohol Interlock) Regulations 2013 by providing an exemption from the application of certain provisions of those regulations for a specified period.
