Government Prices Oversight Regulations 2008

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Government Prices Oversight Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Government Prices Oversight Regulations 2008 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 30 December 2008.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations –
Act means the Government Prices Oversight Act 1995 ;
GST has the same meaning as in the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 of the Commonwealth.

4.   Fee for lodging complaint

For the purpose of section 39G(c) of the Act the prescribed fee is 110 fee units, inclusive of GST.

These regulations are administered in the Department of Treasury and Finance.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations –
(a) prescribe the fee payable on the making of a complaint to the Government Prices Oversight Commission under section 39G(c) of the Government Prices Oversight Act 1995 ; and
(b) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Government Prices Oversight Regulations 1998 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .
