Sentencing Regulations 2008
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Sentencing Act 1997 .

These regulations may be cited as the Sentencing Regulations 2008 .
These regulations take effect on 29 July 2008.
In these regulations Act means the Sentencing Act 1997 .
4. Extension of Part 3A of Act
Under sections 27Y(2) of the Act, 30 June 2009 is prescribed.
For the purposes of sections 46 and 52 of the Act, the cost of a warrant of commitment is $60.
For the purposes of sections 48(1) and 51(1) of the Act, a prescribed unit is $120.
For the purposes of section 89(1)(a) of the Act, the prescribed form is the form set out in Schedule 1 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations (a) prescribe 30 June 2009 as the cut-off date for the making of drug treatment orders under Part 3A of the Sentencing Act 1997 ; and(b) prescribe the cost of a warrant of commitment and the amount of a prescribed unit for the purposes of that Act; and(c) prescribe a form for the purposes of section 89(1)(a) of that Act; and(d) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Sentencing Regulations 1998 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .
