Justices Amendment (Vehicle and Traffic Offences) Rules 2001
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following rules under section 144 of the Justices Act 1959 .

These rules may be cited as the Justices Amendment (Vehicle and Traffic Offences) Rules 2001 .
These rules take effect on the day on which the Vehicle and Traffic Amendment (Vehicle Standards) Act 2001 commences.
In these rules, the Justices Rules 1976 are referred to as the Principal Rules.
4. Schedule III amended (Specified Offences)
Schedule III to the Principal Rules is amended as follows:(a) by omitting item 6A;(b) by omitting item 16A and substituting the following item:16A. Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 , except sections 9 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 18 , 31 and 64 , and any regulations made under it.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the rule)
These rules amend the list of offences in Schedule III to the Justices Rules 1976 so as to provide that a person who is charged with an offence under the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 may, except in certain serious cases, enter a written plea to the charge.
