Traffic (Road Rules) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2000
I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Road Rules) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2000 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 commences.
In these regulations, the Traffic (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 356 amended (Disposal of seized vehicles)
Regulation 356 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting from subregulation (2) "owner" and substituting "registered operator";(b) by omitting from subregulation (3) "owner" and substituting "registered operator";(c) by omitting from subregulation (4) "owner" and substituting "registered operator";(d) by omitting from subregulation (5) "owner" and substituting "registered operator";(e) by omitting from subregulation (6) "owner" and substituting "registered operator".
5. Regulation 370 rescinded
Regulation 370 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded.
6. Regulation 377 amended (Speed-limits for learners and provisional licensees)
Regulation 377 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (1) and substituting the following subregulation:(1) A driver holding a learner licence must not drive at a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour.
Note 1: Learner licence is defined in the dictionary.
7. Schedule 5 amended (Dictionary)
Clause 1 of Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting the definition of learner's licence and substituting the following definition:learner licence has the same meaning as in the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 ;(b) by omitting the definition of provisional licence and substituting the following definition:provisional licence has the same meaning as in the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 ;
8. Schedule 6 amended (Jurisdictional qualifications)
Schedule 6 to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "registered owner" from clause 2(b) of Part 1 and substituting "registered operator".
