Justices Amendment Rules 2000

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following rules under section 144 of the Justices Act 1959 .

1.   Short title

These rules may be cited as the Justices Amendment Rules 2000 .

2.   Commencement

These rules take effect on the day on which the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 commences.

3.   Principal Rules

In these rules, the Justices Rules 1976 are referred to as the Principal Rules.

4.   Schedule I amended (Forms)

Schedule I to the Principal Rules is amended by omitting item 1 of Form 5 and substituting the following item:
1.   C.D. of was on the day of 20 the owner, within the meaning of section 94(1) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982 , of a vehicle, registration number .

5.   Schedule III amended (Specified offences)

Schedule III to the Principal Rules is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting item 6A and substituting the following item:
6A.    Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 , sections 8 , 12 and 27 .
(b) by omitting item 12;
(c) by inserting after item 16 the following item:
16A.    Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2000 , regulation 55 .

These rules amend the Justices Rules 1976 consequential on the enactment of the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .
