Traffic (Repeal of Regulations Postponement) Act 1997
An Act to postpone the repeal of the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956
[Royal Assent 13 November 1997]
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Traffic (Repeal of Regulations Postponement) Act 1997 .
This Act commences on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
3. Postponement of repeal of Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956
The repeal of the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956 that, but for this section, was to have been effected on 1 January 1998 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 is postponed until 1 January 1999.
This Act expires on 2 January 1999.
Until provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 (a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Transport; and(b) the Department responsible to the Minister for Transport in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Transport.
