Local Government (Glenorchy City Council Election) Order 2018
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under sections 46(2C) and 268A(1A) of the Local Government Act 1993 .23 January 2018

This order may be cited as the Local Government (Glenorchy City Council Election) Order 2018 .
This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.
The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if the order were by-laws.
The ordinary election in respect of the Glenorchy City Council that, but for this order, would be due to be held in January 2022 is postponed.
The closing day of the ordinary election in respect of the Glenorchy City Council following its postponement by clause 4 is the last Tuesday in October 2022.
A councillor elected at the election following the dismissal of all councillors, and in respect of which the closing day was 16 January 2018, is elected for, and holds office for, the period commencing on the date of issue of the certificate of election in respect of that election until the date of issue of the next certificate of election in respect of the ordinary election for that office specified in clause 5 .
