Proclamation under the Nature Conservation Act 2002

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 11(2) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002 declare –

(a) the Crown land specified in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Anderson Islands Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(b) the Crown land specified in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Arthur Bay Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(c) the Crown land specified in Part 3 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Boobyalla Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(d) the Crown land specified in Part 4 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Colliers Swamp Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(e) the Crown land specified in Part 5 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Counsel Hill Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(f) the Crown land specified in Part 6 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Five Mile Bluff Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(g) the Crown land specified in Part 7 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Porky Beach Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(h) the Crown land specified in Part 8 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Sea Elephant Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(i) the Crown land specified in Part 9 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Single Tree Plain Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(j) the Crown land specified in Part 10 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Vansittart Island Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(k) that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE 1 - Areas of land

PART 1 - Anderson Islands Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 749.8 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 7805 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 1 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 2 - Arthur Bay Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 558.3 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 7874 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 2 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 3 - Boobyalla Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 2 014 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 8004 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 3 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 4 - Colliers Swamp Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 1 090 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6761 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 4 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 5 - Counsel Hill Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 1 212 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6764 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 5 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 6 - Five Mile Bluff Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising –

(a) about 679.3 hectares, shown as Lot 1; and
(b) about 2.168 hectares, shown as Lot 2 –

bounded by heavy black lines on Plan 8209 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 6 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 7 - Porky Beach Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 442.4 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6919 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 7 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 8 - Sea Elephant Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 731.3 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6763 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 8 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 9 - Single Tree Plain Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 1 298 hectares, shown as Lot 1 and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 7652 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 9 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 10 - Vansittart Island Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 673.8 hectares, shown as Lot 1 (not including the hatched portion) and bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 7912 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 10 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.
