State Service (Restructuring) Order 2009

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under section 11 of the State Service Act 2000 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the State Service (Restructuring) Order 2009 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on 1 July 2009.

3.   Amalgamation of Government departments, &c.

(1)  Arts Tasmania and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, parts of the Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts, are amalgamated with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
(2)  The parts of the Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts, except Arts Tasmania and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, are amalgamated with the Department of Primary Industries and Water.

4.   Change of name of Departments

(1)  The name of the Government department known as the Department of Economic Development and Tourism is changed to the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts.
(2)  The name of the Government department known as the Department of Primary Industries and Water is changed to the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

5.   Abolition of Department

The Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts is abolished.
