Proclamation under the Nature Conservation Act 2002

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 11(2) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002 declare –

(a) the Crown land specified in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Baynes Island Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(b) the Crown land specified in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of State reserve and give the name Dart Island State Reserve to that reserved land; and
(c) the Crown land specified in Part 3 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name George Rocks Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(d) the Crown land specified in Part 4 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of State reserve and give the name Iron Pot State Reserve to that reserved land; and
(e) the Crown land specified in Part 5 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Isle of Caves Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(f) the Crown land specified in Part 6 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Lachlan Island Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(g) the Crown land specified in Part 7 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Little Christmas Island Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(h) the Crown land specified in Part 8 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Little Swan Island Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(i) the Crown land specified in Part 9 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Little Waterhouse Island Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(j) the Crown land specified in Part 10 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Paddys Island Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(k) the Crown land specified in Part 11 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Spectacle Islands Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and
(l) the Crown land specified in Part 12 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area and give the name Wedge Island Conservation Area to that reserved land; and
(m) that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE 1 - Areas of land

PART 1 - Baynes Island Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 10.83 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6576 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 1 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 2 - Dart Island State Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 15.61 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6580 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 2 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 3 - George Rocks Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 9886 square metres shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6578 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 3 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 4 - Iron Pot State Reserve

All those areas of land comprising about 2.287 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by heavy black lines on Plan 6579 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 4 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 5 - Isle of Caves Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 2.346 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6581 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 5 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 6 - Lachlan Island Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 5.328 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6582 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 6 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 7 - Little Christmas Island Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 5.075 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6573 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 7 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 8 - Little Swan Island Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 20.81 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6577 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 8 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 9 - Little Waterhouse Island Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 6.009 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6575 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 9 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 10 - Paddys Island Nature Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 4.862 hectares shown as Lot 1 bounded by a heavy black line on Plan 6574 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 10 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 11 - Spectacle Islands Nature Reserve

All those areas of land comprising about 8.389 hectares shown as Lots 1 and 2 bounded by heavy black lines on Plan 6583 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Part 11 of Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

PART 12 - Wedge Island Conservation Area
