Local Government (Elections) Order 2004

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 268A(1A) of the Local Government Act 1993 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Local Government (Elections) Order 2004 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if it were by-laws.

4.   Closing day

The closing day for elections in respect of all councils is 25 October 2005.

5.   Local Government (Elections) Order 1999 revoked

The Local Government (Elections) Order 1999 is revoked.
