Proclamation under the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2025

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 2 of the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2025 fix –

(a) 8 October 2026 as the day on which the provisions of that Act commence, other than the following provisions:
(i) section 11, 13, 14, 30 and 39;
(ii) subsection (4) of section 12;
(iii) subsections (1), (2), (3) and (4) of section 26;
(iv) subsections (2) and (3) of section 31;
(v) clause 7(2) of Schedule 1;
(vi) paragraph (b) of the definition of relevant Commissioner in clause 1 of Schedule 3;
(vii) clause 3(3) and clause 5 of Schedule 4;
(viii) Schedule 5, to the extent that it applies to –
(A) the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023; and
(B) the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2020; and
(b) 1 January 2027 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:
(i) subsections (1), (2), (3) and (4) of section 26;
(ii) section 39.
