Legal Profession Amendment Regulations 2022

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Legal Profession Act 2007 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Legal Profession Amendment Regulations 2022 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Legal Profession Regulations 2018 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 69 amended (Prescribed amount for purposes of section 361 of Act)

Regulation 69 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "$8.7 million" and substituting "$11 million".

These regulations amend the Legal Profession Regulations 2018 by increasing the amount the Solicitors’ Guarantee Fund must contain before a grant may be paid from the fund under the Legal Profession Act 2007 .
