Threatened Species Protection Order 2021
I make the following order under section 13(5) of the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 .

This order may be cited as the Threatened Species Protection Order 2021 .
This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.
In this order, the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 is referred to as the Principal Act.
4. Schedule 3 amended (Taxa of native flora and fauna which are endangered)
Schedule 3 to the Principal Act is amended as follows:(a) by inserting after item 43 in Subdivision 1 of Division 2 of Part 1 the following item:
43AA.
Senecio extensus
I. Thomps., Asteraceae
subalpine fireweed
(b) by inserting after item 19 in Subdivision 2 of Division 2 of Part 1 the following item:
19A.
Chiloglottis valida
D.L. Jones, Orchidaceae
large bird-orchid
(c) by inserting after item 13 in Subdivision 1 of Division 2 of Part 2 the following item:
13A.
Senecio tasmanicus
I. Thomps., Asteraceae
tasmanian fireweed
5. Schedule 4 amended (Taxa of native flora and fauna which are vulnerable)
Schedule 4 to the Principal Act is amended by inserting after item 42A in Division 1 of Part 2 the following item:
42B.
Senecio longipilus
I. Thomps., Asteraceae
longhair fireweed
6. Schedule 5 amended (Taxa of native flora and fauna which are rare)
Part 2 of Schedule 5 to the Principal Act is amended as follows:(a) by omitting item 46 from Division 1 ;(b) by omitting item 41 from Division 2 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the order)
This order amends the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 by (a) adding certain flora species to the Schedules of endangered and vulnerable flora and fauna; and(b) omitting certain flora species from the Schedule of rare flora and fauna; and(c) updating certain taxonomic, authority and common name references in the Schedules.
