Proclamation under the Roads and Jetties Act 1935

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 7 of the Roads and Jetties Act 1935  –

(a) declare the portions of road specified in Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be a subsidiary road, classified as a tourist road, for the purposes of Part II of that Act;
(b) amend the proclamation notified in the Gazette as Statutory Rules 1970, No. 67, by inserting in Part III of the Second Schedule to that proclamation, in the correct alphabetical position, the following item:

Binalong Bay

From its junction with the Tasman Highway in St Helens to a point 108 metres south of the centre of the junction of Cray Court with Binalong Bay Road and Main Road at Binalong Bay, via Quail Street and Binalong Bay Road.

(c) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the proclamation)

This proclamation –
(a) declares, under the Roads and Jetties Act 1935, certain portions of Quail Street and Binalong Bay Road to be subsidiary roads with the classification of a tourist road; and
(b) consequentially amends a prior proclamation (S.R. 67 of 1970) to name that subsidiary road as the Binalong Bay Tourist Road.
