Gaming Control (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2021

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Gaming Control Act 1993 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Gaming Control (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2021 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 27 April 2021.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations –

Act means the Gaming Control Act 1993 .

4.   Infringement notice offences and penalties

For the purposes of section 172A of the Act –

(a) an infringement offence is an offence against a provision of the Act specified in column 2 of Schedule 1 ; and

(b) the penalty specified in column 3 of Schedule 1 in relation to an infringement offence is the penalty applicable to that offence.

These regulations are administered in the Department of Treasury and Finance.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

(a) prescribe offences under the Gaming Control Act 1993 for which infringement notices may be issued; and

(b) prescribe the penalties payable for those infringement notice offences; and

(c) are made consequent on the repeal of the Gaming Control (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2011 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992.
