Restricted Hire Vehicle Industry Amendment Regulations 2020
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Taxi and Hire Vehicle Industries Act 2008 .

These regulations may be cited as the Restricted Hire Vehicle Industry Amendment Regulations 2020 .
These regulations take effect on 30 December 2020.
In these regulations, the Restricted Hire Vehicle Industry Regulations 2013 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 12 amended (Requirements for wheelchair-accessible restricted hire vehicle)
Regulation 12(b) of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by inserting in subparagraph (i) "up to and including 31 December 2020" after "March 2009";(b) by inserting the following subparagraph after subparagraph (i) :(ia) on or after 1 January 2021, that wheelchair restraint assembly must comply with AS/NZS 10542:2015; or
Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Restricted Hire Vehicle Industry Regulations 2013 to require that any wheelchair restraint assembly fitted in a vehicle on or after 1 January 2021 must comply with AS/NZS 10542:2015.
