Inland Fisheries Amendment Regulations 2020
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 .

These regulations may be cited as the Inland Fisheries Amendment Regulations 2020 .
These regulations take effect on the seventh day after the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Inland Fisheries Regulations 2019 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 7 amended (Taking fish from inland waters)
Regulation 7(3)(a) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subparagraph (i) .
5. Regulation 35A inserted
After regulation 35 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted in Part 4:(1) The holder of a commercial freshwater fishing licence must pay to the Director a royalty for eel taken under the authority of that commercial freshwater fishing licence.(2) The royalty payable by the holder of a commercial freshwater fishing licence under subregulation (1) (a) is to be calculated at 0.25 fee units per kilogram of eel taken under the licence; and(b) is due and payable within 30 days after the day on which an invoice for the royalty is issued in writing by the Director.(3) The Director may refuse to renew a commercial freshwater fishing licence if the holder of the licence has not paid the royalty payable in respect of that licence under this regulation.

These regulations amend the Inland Fisheries Regulations 2019 by (a) prescribing a royalty payable for eel taken under a commercial freshwater fishing licence; and(b) making a minor correction.
