Wildlife (General) Amendment (Deer) Regulations 2019
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Nature Conservation Act 2002 .

These regulations may be cited as the Wildlife (General) Amendment (Deer) Regulations 2019 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Wildlife (General) Regulations 2010 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 51 amended (Special provisions as to deer)
Regulation 51 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting subregulation (4) ;(b) by omitting from subregulation (6) "or (4) ".
5. Regulation 53 amended (Hunting limits for deer, pheasant and brown quail)
Regulation 53 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (1) and substituting the following subregulation:(1) Except as authorised by a permit under Part 2 , a person must not during an open season take the following:(a) deer other than antlerless deer or adult male deer;(b) more than one adult male deer.Penalty: Fine not exceeding 100 penalty units.
6. Schedule 10 amended (Infringement notice offences and penalties)
Schedule 10 to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting item 54 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Wildlife (General) Regulations 2010 by removing –(a) the limit on the number of antlerless deer that may be taken in a season; and(b) the requirement to affix tags to antlerless deer taken under the authority of a deer licence.
