Administrative Arrangements Amendment Order 2019

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 4(1) of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Administrative Arrangements Amendment Order 2019 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on 29 March 2019.

3.   Interpretation

The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if this order were by-laws.

4.   Principal Order

In this order, the Administrative Arrangements Order 2019 is referred to as the Principal Order.

5.    Schedule 1 amended (Administration of Enactments)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Order is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting

Tasmanian Health Services Act 2018

from Part 10 and substituting the following item:

Tasmanian Health Service Act 2018

(b) by omitting the following item

Local Government (Highways) Act 1982

from Part 15 ;
(c) by inserting in Part 15 after

Launceston Flood Risk Management Act 2015

the following item:

DEPARTMENT OF STATE GROWTH

Local Government (Highways) Act 1982

(d) by inserting in Part 19 after

Uniting Church in Australia Act 1977

the following item:

BRAND TASMANIA

Brand Tasmania Act 2018

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order amends the Administrative Arrangements Order 2019 to –
(a) specify that the Department of State Growth is responsible to the Minister for Local Government in relation to the administration of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982 ; and
(b) assign to the Premier the administration of the Brand Tasmania Act 2018 and specify that Brand Tasmania is responsible to the Premier in relation to the administration of that Act; and
(c) correct a minor error in the reference to the Tasmanian Health Service Act 2018 .
