I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment (Taxis and Luxury Hire Cars) Regulations 2018 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which the Taxi Industry Regulations 2018 commence.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Regulations 2017 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)

Regulation 3(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting " Luxury Hire Car Industry Regulations 2008 " from the definition of LHCIR and substituting "Luxury Hire Car Industry Regulations 2018";
(b) by omitting " Taxi Industry Regulations 2008 " from the definition of TIR and substituting "Taxi Industry Regulations 2018".

5.    Schedule 1 amended (Offences)

Part 3 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting from the heading to Division 2 "Taxi Industry Regulations 2008" and substituting "Taxi Industry Regulations 2018";
(b) by omitting Subdivisions 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 and 7 from Division 2 and substituting the following Subdivisions:
