Dog Control Amendment Regulations 2018

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Dog Control Act 2000 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Dog Control Amendment Regulations 2018 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Dog Control Regulations 2010 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 1 amended (Offences)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting "its transfer to" from column 2 of item 11 in the table and substituting "beginning to usually keep dog in";
(b) by omitting items 18 and 19 and substituting the following items:

Failing to ensure greyhound is under effective control

Having more greyhounds in the charge of person than permitted

(c) by inserting after item 22 the following items:

Obstructing, hindering, delaying, impeding or threatening approved person or veterinary surgeon

Disobeying direction given by approved person

(d) by inserting after item 29 the following item:

Failing to notify of beginning to usually keep dog in another municipal area

(e) by omitting item 38 and substituting the following item:

Permitting dog to be nuisance

(f) by omitting item 39 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Dog Control Regulations 2010 by updating the schedule of offences under the Act in respect of which infringement notices may be issued.
