Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment (Lane Filtering) Regulations 2017

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment (Lane Filtering) Regulations 2017 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 29 January 2018.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Regulations 2017 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 1 amended (Offences)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after item 207 in Subdivision 24 of Division 2 of Part 1 the following item:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations prescribe the offence of unlawfully lane filtering on a motor bike as an offence for which an infringement notice may be issued under Part IVB of the Traffic Act 1925 .
