Threatened Species Protection Order 2017

I make the following order under section 13(5) of the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Threatened Species Protection Order 2017 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.    Schedule 3 amended (Taxa of native flora and fauna which are endangered)

Subdivision 1 of Division 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 3 to the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 is amended as follows:

(a) by adding the following item after item 1 in the table titled "Fish":

1A.

Brachiopsilus ziebelli

Last & Gledhill

Ziebells Handfish

(b) by adding the following item after item 5 in the table titled "Fish":

5A.

Thymichthys politus

(Richardson)

Red Handfish

4.   Revocation of order

This order is revoked on the three hundred and sixty fifth day from the day on which it takes effect.

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

Notified in the Gazette on 14 June 2017

This order is administered in the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order amends the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 by adding 2 fish species to the Schedule of endangered native flora and fauna.
