Wildlife (General) Amendment (Deer) Regulations 2015

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Nature Conservation Act 2002 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Wildlife (General) Amendment (Deer) Regulations 2015 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Wildlife (General) Regulations 2010 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 53 amended (Hunting limits for deer, pheasant and brown quail)

Regulation 53(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting "2 deer" and substituting "3 deer";
(b) by omitting from paragraph (a) "one antlerless deer" and substituting "2 antlerless deer";
(c) by omitting from paragraph (b) "2 antlerless deer" and substituting "3 antlerless deer".

These regulations amend the Wildlife (General) Regulations 2010 by increasing the number of antlerless deer that a holder of a deer licence is permitted to take during the open season for deer.
