Nature Conservation (Threatened Native Vegetation Communities) Order 2015

I make the following order under section 76A(1) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Nature Conservation (Threatened Native Vegetation Communities) Order 2015 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if it were by-laws.

4.   Principal Act

In this order, the Nature Conservation Act 2002 is referred to as the Principal Act.

5.    Schedule 3A amended (Threatened native vegetation communities)

Schedule 3A to the Principal Act is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting item 12 ;
(b) by omitting item 26 and substituting the following item:
26.   Heathland on calcareous substrates
(c) by inserting the following item after item 36 :
36A.   Spray zone coastal complex

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

This order is administered in the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order amends Schedule 3A to the Nature Conservation Act 2002 by –
(a) extending the threatened native vegetation community known as the Coastal complex on King Island so that the native vegetation coastal complex on mainland Tasmania is included, and renaming this extended community; and
(b) renaming the threatened native vegetation community known as the Heathland on calcarenite to better reflect the substrate upon which this community occurs.
