National Energy Retail Law (Tasmania) Amendment Regulations 2013
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the National Energy Retail Law (Tasmania) Act 2012 .

These regulations may be cited as the National Energy Retail Law (Tasmania) Amendment Regulations 2013 .
These regulations take effect on 1 January 2014.
In these regulations, the National Energy Retail Law (Tasmania) Regulations 2012 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 8 rescinded
Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded.
5. Regulation 9 amended (Price comparator)
Regulation 9(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting ", but only in relation to contestable customers within the meaning of the Electricity Supply Industry Act 1995 ".
6. Regulation 10 amended (Modification of National Energy Retail Rules in relation to small market offer customers)
Regulation 10 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulations (2) , (3) and (4) and substituting the following subregulations:(2) Rule 6 of the National Energy Retail Rules is modified by omitting paragraph (c).(3) Rule 9 of the National Energy Retail Rules is modified by omitting paragraph (b) from subrule (2).(4) Rule 10 of the National Energy Retail Rules is modified by omitting from subrule (1) "or as not a small market offer customer"."
7. Regulation 11 rescinded
Regulation 11 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the National Energy Retail Law (Tasmania) Regulations 2012 so as to –(a) rescind the nomination of Aurora Energy as the local area retailer; and(b) rescind a transitional provision that is no longer required; and(c) amend certain provisions of the regulations, and certain provisions of the National Energy Retail Rules, that relate to categories of customers that will cease to exist.
