Legal Profession Amendment Regulations 2012

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Legal Profession Act 2007 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Legal Profession Amendment Regulations 2012 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Legal Profession Regulations 2008 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 67A inserted

After regulation 67 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted in Part 5:

67A.   Prescribed amount for purposes of section 361 of Act

For the purposes of section 361(1) of the Act, the amount of $5.5 million is prescribed.

These regulations amend the Legal Profession Regulations 2008 by prescribing an amount of $5.5 million for the purposes of section 361 of the Legal Profession Act 2007 .
