Water and Sewerage Industry (General) Amendment Regulations 2011
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Water and Sewerage Industry Act 2008 .

These regulations may be cited as the Water and Sewerage Industry (General) Amendment Regulations 2011 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Water and Sewerage Industry (General) Regulations 2009 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 11 amended (Work that is not use or development under Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993)
Regulation 11 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (d) the following paragraph:(da) the installation, removal, repair, maintenance, modification, replacement or use of a meter for water infrastructure, whether the meter is above or below ground, if the installation, removal, repair, maintenance, modification, replacement or use is associated with the provision of water by a regulated entity;

These regulations are administered in the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Water and Sewerage Industry (General) Regulations 2009 by prescribing certain work involving water meters as work, related to water infrastructure, that is not to be regarded as a use or development for the purposes of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 or as being in any other way subject to that Act.
