Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Amendment Regulations 2011

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2005 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Amendment Regulations 2011 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Regulations 2006 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 4 amended (Authorised persons)

Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting from paragraph (c) "Island." and substituting "Island;";
(b) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (c) :
(d) police officers working under the direction or control of the Registrar.

These regulations are administered in the Department of Police and Emergency Management.

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Regulations 2006 by prescribing police officers working under the direction or control of the Registrar as authorised persons for the purposes of section 3 of the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2005 .
