Fisheries (General and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2010
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 .

These regulations may be cited as the Fisheries (General and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2010 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Fisheries (General and Fees) Regulations 2006 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)
Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "from Cowrie Point along the line of longitude 145o 22 7.6 East" from paragraph (a) of the definition of Perkins Bay greenlip area and substituting "along the line of longitude 147o 27 00 East".
5. Regulation 21A inserted
After regulation 21 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted in Part 4:21A. Prescribed purposes for changes to management plans
(1) For the purpose of section 48A(1)(f) of the Act, extending the duration of a management plan for a period not exceeding 12 months is a prescribed purpose.(2) Despite subregulation (1) , extending the duration of a management plan for a period not exceeding 12 months is not a prescribed purpose for the purpose of section 48A(1)(f) of the Act if that management plan has previously been changed for that purpose under that section.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Fisheries (General and Fees) Regulations 2006 so as to (a) extend the Perkins Bay greenlip area, being an area adjacent to the north coast of Tasmania in respect of which the minimum size limit for the shell length of greenlip abalone is 132 millimetres; and(b) allow the Minister to extend the duration of a management plan, once only, for a period not exceeding 12 months.
