Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2010

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2010 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Regulations 2009 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 1 amended (Waters for Taking Indigenous Fish)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by inserting in item 1 "that connects the Arthur River Road to Temma Road" after "river";
(b) by inserting the following item after item 3 :
3A.   Waters of the Browns River and its tributaries below the Channel Highway.

5.    Schedule 2 amended (Waters for Taking Bream)

Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after item 2 the following item:

2A. 

Browns River and its tributaries below the Channel Highway.

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Regulations 2009 so as to –
(a) permit the taking of indigenous fish and bream without an angling licence in a specified area of the Browns River and its tributaries; and
(b) clarify the upstream boundary of the area of the Arthur River where indigenous fish may be taken without an angling licence.
