Building Amendment Regulations 2009
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Building Act 2000 .

These regulations may be cited as the Building Amendment Regulations 2009 .
These regulations take effect on 1 July 2009.
In these regulations, the Building Regulations 2004 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 18 amended (Granting of building permits)
Regulation 18(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (ea) the following paragraph:(eb) a certificate for certifiable work (building) is required and has been issued under section 56TC of the Water and Sewerage Industry Act 2008 ;
5. Regulation 21 amended (Review of decision)
Regulation 21 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after subregulation (3) the following subregulation:(3A) In conducting a review in relation to a building permit, the permit authority is to consult with any person whose consent, approval or permission was required under an Act to be obtained before the permit could be granted, if the objection to which the review relates is in respect of (a) a condition imposed on a building permit at the request of the person; or(b) a refusal to grant a building permit because the person refused to grant the consent, approval or permission.
6. Regulation 27 amended (Requirements before building demolition or removal general)
Regulation 27 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting from paragraph (c) "capping sewer and stormwater drains and sealing off water supply lines from the council's mains" and substituting "capping stormwater drains";(b) by omitting from paragraph (d)(iii) "fire door." and substituting "fire door; and";(c) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (d) :(e) advised in writing the regulated entity, within the meaning of the Water and Sewerage Industry Act 2008 , of the timetable for capping any sewers and sealing off any water supply lines.
