Marine and Safety (Infringement Notices) Amendment Regulations 2009

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Marine and Safety Authority Act 1997 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Marine and Safety (Infringement Notices) Amendment Regulations 2009 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which the Marine and Safety (Safe Operation) Amendment Regulations 2009 take effect.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Marine and Safety (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2008 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 1 amended (Offences under Marine and Safety (Safe Operation) Regulations 2003)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after item 41 the following items:

These regulations are administered in the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Marine and Safety (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2008 by –
(a) prescribing further offences under the Marine and Safety Authority Act 1997 for which infringement notices may be issued; and
(b) prescribing the penalties for those infringement notice offences.
