Plumbers and Gas-fitters Registration Amendment Regulations 2008

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Plumbers and Gas-fitters Registration Act 1951 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Plumbers and Gas-fitters Registration Amendment Regulations 2008 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 1 January 2009.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Plumbers and Gas-fitters Registration Regulations 2004 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 2 amended (Examination for registration)

Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting "TAFE" from the definition of core subjects in clause 1 and substituting "a registered training organisation";

(b) by omitting the definition of TAFE from clause 1 and substituting the following definition:

registered training organisation has the same meaning as in the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 .

(c) by omitting from clause 2(a)(i) "the TAFE;" and substituting "a registered training organisation;";

(d) by omitting from clause 2(b)(i) "the TAFE;" and substituting "a registered training organisation;";

(e) by omitting from clause 3(a) "the TAFE" and substituting "a registered training organisation";

(f) by omitting from clause 4(a) "the TAFE" and substituting "a registered training organisation";

(g) by omitting from clause 5(a) "the TAFE" and substituting "a registered training organisation";

(h) by omitting from clause 6(a) "the TAFE" and substituting "a registered training organisation";

(i) by omitting from clause 7(a) "the TAFE" and substituting "a registered training organisation";

(j) by omitting from clause 8(a) "the TAFE" and substituting "a registered training organisation".
