Passenger Transport Amendment (Community Transport) Regulations 2008
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Passenger Transport Act 1997 .

These regulations may be cited as the Passenger Transport Amendment (Community Transport) Regulations 2008 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Passenger Transport Regulations 2000 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 6A amended (Small passenger vehicle exemptions)
Regulation 6A(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "1 January 2009" and substituting "1 January 2010".
5. Regulation 25A amended (Prescribed circumstances for purposes of section 16V of Act)
Regulation 25A(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "the provision of community transport services" and substituting "the use of small passenger vehicles in the provision of community transport services".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Passenger Transport Regulations 2000 by (a) extending, until 1 January 2010, the period of the temporary exemption from registration under the Passenger Transport Act 1997 for small passenger vehicles that are used to provide community transport services; and(b) revising the circumstances in which the Transport Commission may exempt community transport service providers from the need to be accredited under that Act.
