Radiation Protection Amendment Regulations 2008

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Radiation Protection Act 2005 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Radiation Protection Amendment Regulations 2008 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 1 July 2008.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Radiation Protection Regulations 2006 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 19 amended (Disposal)

Regulation 19(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Director of Environmental Management" from paragraph (a) of the definition of approved disposal site and substituting "Director, Environment Protection Authority".

These regulations are administered in the Department of Health and Human Services.

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Radiation Protection Regulations 2006 consequent on the enactment of the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Amendment (Environment Protection Authority) Act 2007 by replacing a reference to the Director of Environmental Management with a reference to the Director, Environment Protection Authority.
