Poisons (Prohibited Substances) Amendment Order 2008

I make the following order under section 3(1) of the Poisons Act 1971 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Poisons (Prohibited Substances) Amendment Order 2008 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Order

In this order, the Poisons (Prohibited Substances) Order 1990 is referred to as the Principal Order.

4.   Schedule 1 amended (Prohibited Substances)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Order is amended by omitting item 38A and substituting the following item:

38A.   Levomethorphan (excluding its stereoisomers).

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

Notified in the Gazette on 21 May 2008

This order is administered in the Department of Health and Human Services.

This order amends the Poisons (Prohibited Substances) Order 1990 by amending the entry for levomethorphan in the list of prohibited substances.
