Vocational Education and Training Amendment Regulations 2008

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Vocational Education and Training Amendment Regulations 2008 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 1 March 2008.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Vocational Education and Training Regulations 2005 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)

Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting "Vocational Education and Training Act 1994;" from the definition of Act and substituting "Vocational Education and Training Act 1994.";
(b) by omitting the definitions of certificate level and short course .

5.    Regulation 5 inserted

After regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations , the following is inserted:

5.   When registration fee is payable

The fee specified in item 2 in Schedule 1 is payable at the time of issue of the registration certificate under section 32A of the Act.

6.    Schedule 1 substituted

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following Schedule is substituted:

(a) under section 32T of Act for accreditation of a single training course or accreditation of more than one training course that the Qualifications Authority determines to be a suite of similar training courses

(b) under section 32X of Act for renewal of such accreditation

These regulations amend the Vocational Education and Training Regulations 2005 by revising the fees payable under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 .
