Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2007

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority Act 2003 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2007 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 1 January 2008.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (Fees) Regulations 2003 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 1 substituted

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following Schedule is substituted:

SCHEDULE 1 - Fees

Regulation 4

		Fee units
1.	Application under section 35 of Act for accreditation of higher education course or application under section 39 of Act for renewal of that accreditation –
	(a) if application relates to one local higher education course or overseas higher education course or a group of related local higher education courses or overseas higher education courses	1 100
	(b) if application relates to one interstate higher education course or a group of related interstate higher education courses	200
2.	Application under section 42 of Act for registration as registered higher education provider or application under section 49 of Act for renewal of that registration	200
3.	Registration fee under section 47 of Act for registered higher education provider –
	(a) if registration granted on the basis of section 43(2B) of Act	200
	(b) if registration granted otherwise than on the basis of section 43(2B) of Act	1 000
4.	Application under section 55A of Act for approval as approved overseas higher education provider or application under section 55H of Act for renewal of that approval –
	(a) if applicant is overseas higher education institution referred to in section 55A(2)(b) of Act	6 000
	(b) if applicant is overseas higher education institution referred to in section 55A(2)(c) of Act	1 000
5.	Approval fee under section 55F of Act for approved overseas higher education provider –
	(a) if approval granted on the basis of section 55B(4) of Act	1 000
	(b) if approval granted otherwise than on the basis of section 55B(4) of Act	4 000
6.	Application under section 55N of Act for grant of status of self-accrediting higher education provider or application under section 55U of Act for renewal of that grant of status	600
7.	Self-accreditation fee under section 55S of Act for self-accrediting higher education provider	1 000
8.	Application under section 55ZT of Act for accreditation of education program for provision to overseas students or application under section 55ZX of Act for renewal of that accreditation –
	(a) if application relates to education program referred to in section 55ZT(2)(d) of Act, or to accredited course or accredited training course	50
	(b) if application relates to any other program or course	100
9.	Application under section 55ZZ of Act for registration as a registered education (overseas students) provider or application under section 55ZZG of Act for renewal of that registration –
	(a) if application relates to education program at infant, primary or secondary level	100
	(b) if application relates to education program at post-secondary level	500
10.	Registration fee under section 55ZZE of Act for registered education (overseas students) provider –
	(a) if application relates to education program at infant, primary or secondary level	250
	(b) if application relates to education program at post-secondary level	500
11.	Application under section 55ZZO of Act for recommendation that new university be established by an Act	10 000
12.	Fee for providing statement under section 64A(1) of Act –
	(a) if statement requested to be provided on same day	40
	(b) if statement not requested to be provided on same day	10

These regulations amend the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (Fees) Regulations 2003 by further providing for the fees payable under the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority Act 2003 .
