Litter (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2007

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Litter Act 2007 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Litter (Infringement Notices) Regulations 2007 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 26 December 2007.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations –
Act means the Litter Act 2007 .

4.   Infringement notice offences and penalties

For Division 3 of Part 3 of the Act –
(a) an offence under a section of the Act specified in Schedule 1 is a prescribed offence; and
(b) the penalty specified in that Schedule in respect of that offence is the prescribed penalty for that offence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations prescribe –
(a) offences under the Litter Act 2007 as offences in respect of which infringement notices may be issued; and
(b) the penalties payable in respect of those offences on the issue of infringement notices.
