Local Government (General) Amendment Regulations 2007
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Local Government Act 1993 .

These regulations may be cited as the Local Government (General) Amendment Regulations 2007 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Local Government (General) Regulations 2005 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 37 amended (Compulsory acquisition of land)
Regulation 37 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (e) the following paragraph:(ea) the undertaking of work, or the provision of access for the undertaking of work, for the prevention, control or mitigation of a flood;

These regulations amend the Local Government (General) Regulations 2005 to enable a council to compulsorily acquire land for the purpose of undertaking work, or the provision of access for the undertaking of work, for the prevention, control or mitigation of a flood.
