Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2007
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 .

These regulations may be cited as the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2007 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Regulations 1999 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 15 amended (Minimum sizes of fish)
Regulation 15 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after subregulation (2D) the following subregulation:(2E) A person must not take from the waters of Great Lake (a) any rainbow trout that is less than 400 millimetres in length; or(b) any brown trout that is less than 300 millimetres in length.Penalty: Fine of not less than 1 penalty unit and not more than 5 penalty units and a special penalty of 1 penalty unit for each fish.
5. Regulation 16 amended (Bag limits)
Regulation 16 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after subregulation (3) the following subregulation:(3AA) A person, on any one day in the waters of Great Lake, must not (a) take more than a total of 12 salmon including a maximum of 3 rainbow trout; or(b) continue to take rainbow trout if the person already has 3 rainbow trout; or(c) continue to take or fish for salmon if the person already has 12 salmon.Penalty: Fine of not less than 1 penalty unit and not more than 5 penalty units and a special penalty of 1 penalty unit for each fish.
6. Regulation 19 amended (Taking fish from boats)
Regulation 19(5) of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting from paragraph (c) "levels." and substituting "levels; or";(b) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (c) :(d) in Pet and Guide Reservoir.
7. Regulation 20 amended (Use of boats)
Regulation 20 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting from subregulation (1) "A person, in any waters except Lake Crescent, must not " and substituting "A person must not, in any lake";(b) by omitting from subregulation (1)(a) "a lake" and substituting "the lake";(c) by omitting from subregulation (1)(c) "shore" and substituting "the shore of that lake";(d) by omitting from subregulation (2) "on a lake" and substituting "on to a lake";(e) by omitting from subregulation (2) "any waters except Lake Crescent" and substituting "the lake".
8. Regulation 21 amended (Use of baits and lures)
Regulation 21(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (s) the following paragraph:(sa) Huntsman Lake;

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Regulations 1999 by (a) prohibiting the taking of fish from a boat in Pet and Guide Reservoir; and(b) prohibiting the use of boats for "long lining" in Lake Crescent; and(c) providing that fish may only be taken from Huntsman Lake by means of a lure; and(d) setting minimum size limits for the taking of rainbow trout and brown trout in Great Lake; and(e) setting a daily bag limit for the taking of salmon and rainbow trout in Great Lake.
