Inland Fisheries (Seasons and Waters) Amendment Order 2006

I make the following order under section 197 of the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Inland Fisheries (Seasons and Waters) Amendment Order 2006 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Order

In this order, the Inland Fisheries (Seasons and Waters) Order 1996 is referred to as the Principal Order.

4.    Clause 4 amended (Taking of acclimatised fish)

Clause 4 of the Principal Order is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting paragraph (f) from subclause (1) and substituting the following paragraph:
(f) on and from 29 July 2000 –
(i) Brushy Lagoon; and
(ii) Craigbourne Dam; and
(iii) Great Lake, other than Canal Bay; and
(iv) Lake Barrington; and
(v) Lake Burbury; and
(vi) Lake Gordon; and
(vii) Lake Meadowbank; and
(viii) Lake Pedder.
(b) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (c) in subclause (2) :
(ca) at Curries River Reservoir from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset; and

5.    Clause 7 amended (Taking fish in certain waters)

Clause 7 of the Principal Order is amended by inserting after subclause (1) the following subclause:
(1A)  The taking of any fish in Plenty River adjacent to the Salmon Ponds is permitted only by an eligible person.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order amends the Inland Fisheries (Seasons and Waters) Order 1996 by –
(a) providing that, at Curries River Reservoir, acclimatised fish may be taken from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset between the first Saturday of August in any year and the Sunday nearest 30 April in the next year; and
(b) providing that, at Plenty River adjacent to the Salmon Ponds, eligible persons may take fish; and
(c) making other minor amendments.
