Racing (Totalizator Betting) Amendment Regulations 2005
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Racing (Totalizator Betting) Act 1952 .

These regulations may be cited as the Racing (Totalizator Betting) Amendment Regulations 2005 .
(1) These regulations, except as specified in subregulation (2), take effect on 7 February 2005.(2) Regulation 5 commences on 7 March 2005.
In these regulations, the Racing (Totalizator Betting) Regulations 1976 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
After regulation 114A of the Principal Regulations, the following regulation is inserted:114AB. Prescribed percentage for purposes of section 57M of Act (Win totalizator)
For the purposes of section 57M(1A)(a) of the Act, the prescribed percentage is 14.50%.
After regulation 114AB of the Principal Regulations (as inserted by regulation 4 of these regulations), the following regulation is inserted:114AC. Prescribed percentage for purposes of section 57M of Act (Forecast totalizator)
(1) For the purposes of section 57M(1A)(e) of the Act, the prescribed percentage is 8.25%.(2) This regulation expires at midnight on 30 May 2005.
After regulation 114B of the Principal Regulations, the following regulation is inserted:114BA. Prescribed percentage for purposes of section 57M of Act (Quinella totalizator)
For the purposes of section 57M(1A)(g) of the Act, the prescribed percentage is 14.75%.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Racing (Totalizator Betting) Regulations 1976 by –(a) increasing the amount that TOTE Tasmania deducts as commission from its total receipts for win totalizator betting; and(b) temporarily decreasing the amount that TOTE Tasmania deducts as commission from its total receipts for forecast totalizator betting; and(c) decreasing the amount that TOTE Tasmania deducts as commission from its total receipts for quinella totalizator betting.
