I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment (Notice of Demand) Regulations 2004 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which the Traffic Amendment (Notice of Demand) Act 2004 commences.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Regulations 2001 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 2 amended (Traffic infringement notice offences)

Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after item 47 in Part 2 the following items:

These regulations amend the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Regulations 2001 by prescribing the failure to comply with a notice of demand as a traffic infringement notice offence under Part IVB of the Traffic Act 1925 .
