Taxi Industry (Taxi Areas) Amendment Regulations 2004
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Taxi and Luxury Hire Car Industries Act 1995 .

These regulations may be cited as the Taxi Industry (Taxi Areas) Amendment Regulations 2004 .
These regulations take effect on 17 March 2004.
In these regulations, the Taxi Industry (Taxi Areas) Regulations 1996 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 7 amended (Assessed market value of licences)
Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "capped" and substituting "assessed market".
5. Schedule 1 amended (Taxi areas)
Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by inserting after item 4 the following items:
4A. Bruny Island taxi area
The whole of Bruny Island.
4B. Central Highlands taxi area
The municipal area of Central Highlands.
(b) by inserting after item 9 the following items:
9A. Glamorgan/Spring Bay North taxi area
That part of the municipal area of Glamorgan/Spring Bay north of the Little Swanport River.
9B. Glamorgan/Spring Bay South taxi area
That part of the municipal area of Glamorgan/Spring Bay south of the Little Swanport River.
(c) by inserting after item 10 the following item:
10A. Kentish taxi area
The municipal area of Kentish.

These regulations are administered in the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Taxi Industry (Taxi Areas) Regulations 1996 by (a) replacing a reference to capped value with references to assessed market value consequent on the enactment of the Taxi and Luxury Hire Car Industries Amendment Act 2003 ; and(b) specify certain new taxi areas.
